Odisha CM Meets Top Industrialists in Mumbai, Paves Way for Major Investments

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Industries Minister Sampad Swain, took part in a high-profile investor meet in Mumbai, engaging with prominent industrialists to discuss key projects and investment opportunities for the state. The Chief Minister held discussions with notable business leaders, including JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal, Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal, and Reliance Solar Energy Director Anant Ambani.

Following his meetings, Majhi announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the Odisha government would extend full support to JSW for the successful implementation of electric vehicle (EV), lithium-ion battery, and a 32 MTPA steel project in the state. “As a result, Odisha will be recognized as a leading state in the field of steel and EV,” Majhi said, highlighting the transformative potential of these projects.

During his interaction with Anil Agarwal, the Chief Minister discussed the expansion and investment plans for Vedanta Aluminum in Odisha. Majhi revealed that the state will soon host the ‘Utkarsh Odisha Conference,’ aimed at attracting further investments, with special incentives to be provided for industries. Majhi emphasized that Odisha, with its vast resources, remains central to the ‘Purvodaya’ vision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

In another key meeting, Majhi met with Reliance Solar Energy Director Anant Ambani and extended an invitation for him to attend the Utkarsh Odisha conference next year. The Chief Minister underscored the state’s commitment to developing sectors like green fuel, communications, mobile networks, and solar energy, stressing that all necessary facilities and incentives would be made available to investors.
