
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 481 development projects worth ₹1,151 crore across Odisha’s 30 districts during the State-level Local Self-Government Day ceremony at Lok Seva Bhavan.
In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized the role of self-governance in ensuring the delivery of basic services to citizens. He called on public representatives to prioritize the welfare of the people above politics and work collaboratively to meet public expectations. Majhi also stressed the importance of empowering municipalities to manage urban infrastructure and plan for the growing needs of urban areas.
The Chief Minister also handed appointment letters to 27 newly recruited administrative officers. He announced the preparation of a handbook and toolkit designed to guide both citizens and service providers in executing master plans and securing building approvals on time.
Majhi highlighted the rapid urbanization of Bhubaneswar, acknowledging the challenges it brings in terms of providing essential services to its residents. He assured that the state government is committed to transforming Bhubaneswar and other urban areas into smart cities with modern infrastructure.
