Odisha CM Hosts CEOs at Make in Odisha Conclave, Announces Major Industrial Plans

Bhubaneswar: In a major push to attract investments and boost economic growth, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi convened a high-profile discussion with CEOs of over 100 leading companies at Janata Maidan today. The meeting, held as part of the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, brought together industry leaders from key sectors, including steel, green energy, and IT.

Chief Minister Majhi highlighted Odisha’s impressive economic trajectory, citing the state’s high GDP growth rate as evidence of its potential. He also underscored Odisha’s strategic advantages, such as its abundant natural resources, extensive mineral reserves, and rapidly improving infrastructure, making it an ideal destination for investments.

“This is the best time to invest in Odisha,” Majhi said, adding that the state government is committed to establishing industries in every district, with a focus on developing infrastructure such as railways, roads, and ports. He stressed that these efforts aim to not only accelerate economic growth but also create employment opportunities, particularly in border areas like Malkangiri.

The conclave was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised Odisha’s potential as a growth engine for a developed India. “Odisha is rich in natural and mineral resources, and it has the capacity to become a key contributor to India’s development,” the Prime Minister said, adding that his address had inspired entrepreneurs to consider high-value investments in the state.

The event also witnessed a strong show of support from the state government. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja welcomed the participating companies and assured them of the administration’s full cooperation in facilitating industrial projects. Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department Hemant Kumar Sharma, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, and PWC Chairman Sanjeev Krishna were also present at the gathering.

Hemant Kumar Sharma, in his closing remarks, expressed gratitude to the attendees and reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a pro-business environment.
