Odisha CM Highlights Achievements in First 100 Days of BJP Government

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, during a state-level celebration in Puri, marked the BJP government’s first 100 days in office by outlining the administration’s major accomplishments and future vision. Addressing the gathering, Majhi reiterated the government’s dedication to fulfilling key promises made during the election and emphasized a people-centric governance model.

Majhi began his speech by paying homage to Lord Jagannath and quoted Utkalmani Gopbandhu, stressing the significance of prioritizing the people’s needs. He articulated a bold vision for Odisha’s growth, outlining plans to build a prosperous state over the next 12 years, with the foundation being laid in the first five years. Remarkably, the Chief Minister noted that the process had already begun within the government’s first 100 days.

Referring to the BJP’s election manifesto, Majhi stressed that their resolutions, or Sankalp Patra, serve as the government’s guiding principles, akin to sacred scriptures, and reflect their deep commitment to public welfare. Among the key achievements he highlighted were addressing public grievances directly, breaking down barriers between devotees and Lord Jagannath, and establishing a Rs 2000 crore fund for the revival of Odia culture and identity, known as Odia Asmita.

The CM also announced the construction of the Odia Asmita Bhawan and the Odia Translation Academy, along with a Rs 500 crore allocation for temple development. Additionally, he detailed initiatives such as the introduction of a Rs 3100 per quintal minimum support price for paddy, the launch of the CM-Kisan Yojana to aid farmers, and the creation of the Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women financially.

Looking ahead, Majhi reaffirmed the government’s goal of creating a prosperous Odisha by 2036, attributing the progress to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the continued support of the people.

In a pointed criticism of the previous government, Majhi described their 24-year reign as “arrogant and anti-people,” emphasizing that the 2024 election results signaled the public’s rejection of leaders disconnected from the people’s concerns. He cited the fall of the former government as evidence of the people’s power, which he said played a critical role in bringing about change.

The Chief Minister also underscored the government’s achievements in combating corruption, with the conviction rate for corruption cases reaching 50%, and an impressive 80% conviction rate for cases involving disproportionate assets.
