Odisha CM Announces ₹15 Lakh Each for Olympic-Bound Athletes Kishore Jena and Amit Rohidas

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a financial incentive of ₹15 lakh each for ace javelin thrower Kishore Jena and hockey star Amit Rohidas, who are set to represent the state in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

The announcement, made on Monday, aims to motivate the two talented athletes as they prepare for the prestigious international event. Chief Minister Majhi expressed his hope that this support will inspire them to perform exceptionally and bring glory to India.

“Having qualified to participate in the Paris Olympics, Jena and Rohidas have brought glory not only to their native land but also to the entire state,” Majhi said. “On behalf of the people of Odisha, I extend my best wishes and congratulations to both of them. Their indomitable will, hard work, and determination will inspire the young talents of the state.”

Majhi emphasized that the financial support is part of the state’s effort to encourage and motivate these athletes. “The people of Odisha have full faith in the capabilities of both of them. With the blessings of Lord Jagannath, I hope they will glorify the state and the country by displaying their best sports skills in the Olympics,” he added.

The Chief Minister reiterated Odisha’s commitment to nurturing sports talent. “There is no dearth of sports talents in Odisha. The state government is determined to provide the necessary infrastructure, financial support, and all the facilities at the grassroots level for the all-round development of these talents from every corner of the state and to realize their dreams,” Majhi said.
