Odisha Clears Pending Subhadra Payments, ₹61 Crore Released to 79,000+ Beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar: Addressing delays in welfare delivery, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Monday facilitated the release of over ₹61 crore to more than 79,000 beneficiaries under the ‘Subhadra’ scheme, covering those who had missed earlier instalments due to technical glitches and pending verifications.

The disbursement was carried out virtually from the Women and Child Development Department, with funds credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.

Officials said the payout followed the resolution of issues such as inactive NPCI linkage, biometric e-KYC errors, and grievance-related delays. As part of the process, 21,901 beneficiaries received the first instalment, 22,347 the second, and 79,601 the third instalment under the scheme.

Reaffirming the government’s inclusive approach, Parida stressed that efforts are underway to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are brought under the scheme without delay. She noted that a structured verification and grievance redressal system is being strengthened to prevent such exclusions in the future.

The Deputy Chief Minister also conducted a review with district administrations, including Ganjam, Jajpur, and Kalahandi, urging officials to fast-track the identification and verification of remaining eligible beneficiaries.

Senior officials of the department, including Commissioner-cum-Secretary Dr. Mrinalini Darswal and Director (In-charge) Swayam Prava Mohanty, along with other officers, participated in the programme virtually.
