Odisha Chief Minister Announces 50% Hike in Daily and Retainer Fees for Non-cadre Law Officers

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a substantial 50% increase in the daily and retainer fees for non-cadre law officers employed across various courts in the state. This decision, as outlined in a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), is set to benefit approximately 1215 law officers.

Following the revised fee structure, the daily fees for 184 Additional Public Prosecutors, previously at Rs 1250, have been raised to Rs 1875. Similarly, the retainer fees for these prosecutors have seen an increase from Rs 8200 to Rs 12300. Additionally, the fees for 740 Assistant Public Prosecutors, formerly receiving Rs 1100 as daily fees, have been upped to Rs 1650, with their retainer fees also climbing from Rs 4000 to Rs 6000.

Special Public Prosecutors, numbering 85, who were receiving Rs 1250 as daily fees, will now be entitled to Rs 1875 following the fee hike. Their retainer fees have also been raised from Rs 8200 to Rs 12300. Similarly, 29 Government Pleaders and 113 Assistant Government Pleaders, who were previously receiving retainer fees of Rs 8200, will now receive Rs 12300.
