Odisha CEO Announces Rs 15 Lakh Ex-Gratia for Govt Employee Killed During Election Duty

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 15 lakh to the next of kin of Alekh Randhari, a government employee who tragically lost his life while on election duty.

Randhari, a dedicated class-IV employee of a government school, met with a fatal accident near Swami Vivekananda Vidyamandir in Nabarangpur district while en route to a polling station for the first phase of elections.

Expressing condolences over the untimely demise of the government employee, CEO Dhal emphasized that the compensation amount of Rs 15 lakh would be provided to Randhari’s family in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
