Bhubaneswar: In a pivotal move, the Odisha Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, granted approval on Monday for Rs.656.73 crore to be allocated to the Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monument Revival Action (EKAMRA) Scheme.
Launched with the primary objective of reviving and preserving the heritage significance and splendor of the Lord Lingaraj Temple and its surroundings, the EKAMRA Scheme aims to augment the living heritage, perpetuate traditions, and provide a comprehensive timeline of Kalinga Architectural Development.
The overarching goal is to safeguard and reinforce the connections between the natural and built heritage assets in the area.
The State Cabinet sanctioned the Scheme with a financial allocation of Rs.656.73 Crore, and the implementation period is slated from 2020-21 to 2024-25. This substantial financial commitment underscores the government’s commitment to conserving and promoting the cultural and historical richness embedded in Ekamra Kshetra.
