Odisha Cabinet Approves Key Initiatives in First Meeting Led by CM Mohan Majhi

Bhubaneswar: The newly formed Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, during which four significant decisions were made in alignment with the BJP’s election promises.

Addressing the media at the Lok Seva Bhawan, Chief Minister Majhi announced, “The Cabinet has taken four major decisions today. The first is the opening of the four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple from tomorrow early morning at the time of mangala alati.” He added that this event would occur in the presence of members of the Council of Ministers.

In a move aimed at ensuring the temple’s upkeep and preparedness for emergencies, the Cabinet approved the creation of a Rs 500 crore corpus fund dedicated to the conservation of the Shree Jagannath Temple. “This fund will come into effect very soon,” stated Majhi.

Further reflecting the government’s commitment to agricultural development, the Cabinet greenlit the introduction of the Samruddha Krushak Niti, a comprehensive new policy for farmers. “The policy, which will be implemented within 100 days, includes a provision for a minimum support price of Rs 3100 per quintal of paddy,” Majhi informed.

Additionally, the Cabinet decided to launch the Subhadra Yojana within 100 days, aimed at empowering women across the state. Under this initiative, women will receive cash vouchers worth Rs 50,000. “This is a step towards the economic empowerment of women,” Majhi emphasized.
