
Bhubaneswar: The Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly commenced on Thursday with Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati’s address, outlining the state government’s priorities and developmental initiatives.
During his address, Governor Kambhampati highlighted a range of government schemes and initiatives, from the repair and conservation of Srimandir to the implementation of Subhadra Yojana and the decision to procure paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, benefitting farmers across the state. He stated that the government is working in alignment with the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ motto and progressing towards achieving “Viksit Odisha by 2036,” in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
He presented a comprehensive list of programs aimed at enhancing agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, while reiterating the government’s commitment to empowering women, economically weaker sections, and youth.
The Governor also congratulated the state government for successfully upholding Odia Asmita (Odia identity) and organizing major national and international events such as the DGP/IG Conference and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
