Odisha Assembly Budget Session to Begin on February 17

Bhubaneswar: The budget session of the 17th Odisha Assembly is scheduled to commence on February 17, 2025, with the Governor’s address. On the same day, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present the State Budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the House.

According to the schedule released by the Assembly Secretariat, the session will span 28 business days and is set to conclude on April 5, 2025. The General Discussion on the Budget will take place on February 20 and 21, during which legislators will engage in detailed deliberations on the financial proposals and policy directions. The Appropriation Bill, which seeks legislative approval for the budget’s expenditure framework, will be introduced on March 29.

The budget session is expected to provide a platform for addressing key financial and developmental priorities, with discussions likely to focus on strategies to bolster Odisha’s economic growth and welfare initiatives.
