Odisha Approves ₹4,982.66 Crore Investment Proposals, Set to Create Nearly 12,000 Jobs

Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards realising the vision of Samrudha Odisha by 2036, the Government of Odisha, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has cleared investment proposals worth ₹4,982.66 crore. The approvals, granted during the 138th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, are expected to generate employment for 11,933 people across 12 districts.

These 23 new investment proposals span a wide range of sectors including apparel and textiles, steel and downstream industries, food and beverages, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power and renewable energy, IT and ITES, tourism, and aerospace and defence. The state’s continued emphasis on balanced regional growth and sustainable industrialisation was reflected in the diversity and geographic spread of the projects.

In the textile sector, a major proposal by KPR Mill Limited involves setting up a large-scale garment manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of ₹350 crore. The plant is expected to produce nearly 46.8 million garments annually and create around 5,000 jobs. Odisha’s strength in the metals sector was reinforced through projects like a ₹620 crore integrated steel plant by Vidya Minerals in Sundargarh and a steel structure unit by Jatia Steel in Jajpur with an investment of ₹451.90 crore.

The food and beverage sector also attracted significant proposals. Hindustan Aqua is set to invest ₹320 crore in a beverage unit in Sundargarh, while Pragati Milk Products will develop a dairy facility in Balasore at a cost of ₹114.34 crore. Meanwhile, Odisha’s efforts to position itself as a high-end tourist destination received a boost with six new hospitality projects worth ₹479 crore planned in districts including Puri, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, and Ganjam. These are expected to create more than 1,300 jobs.

A major highlight among the proposals was the ₹300 crore investment by BonV Technology in a Drone Park at Khordha, which will house an integrated ecosystem for UAV R&D, manufacturing, and training. The park is expected to generate 760 jobs and position Odisha as a frontrunner in drone technology.

In the green energy space, Ecodynamix Green Energy will establish a 30 MW solar power plant in Bargarh, while Luminous Power Technologies plans to set up a large-scale solar cell and PV module manufacturing facility in Gopalpur with a ₹950 crore investment and employment for around 1,000 people.

Other projects include an air separation unit by Linde India in Sundargarh, a solvent extraction unit by Growing Tree Oil Refinery in Bargarh, and a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit by Synnat Pharma in Cuttack. The IT sector saw participation from Apmosys Technologies, which will set up a software development centre in Khordha with a proposed investment of ₹65 crore.

These investment approvals reflect Odisha’s robust policy framework, investor-friendly environment, and commitment to fast-tracked industrial development. The government’s clear roadmap under the stewardship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is gradually transforming Odisha into a major economic powerhouse in eastern India.
