Odisha Approves ₹4,739 Crore Investments to Generate Over 25,000 Jobs Across Key Sectors

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken another decisive step toward its vision of Samrudha Odisha 2036, with the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approving 25 new investment proposals worth ₹4,739 crore. Chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, IAS, the 140th SLSWCA meeting cleared projects that are expected to generate 25,200 employment opportunities across multiple districts including Khordha, Jajpur, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Angul, and Gajapati.

The latest clearances cover 13 priority sectors, such as textiles, steel, chemicals, IT, infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, capital goods, and cold storage. These projects reflect the state government’s focus on balanced regional development and inclusive industrial growth, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

In the textiles and apparel sector, Odisha has attracted significant commitments. Colortone Textiles Pvt. Ltd. will establish an integrated textile facility in Khordha with an investment of ₹700.29 crore, creating 1,010 jobs. In Cuttack, SCM Garments Pvt. Ltd. and Carloo Tex Pvt. Ltd. will together generate 6,500 jobs with large-scale garment units. Hindalco Industries Ltd. will set up apparel units in Sambalpur and Keonjhar, adding 2,400 jobs, while Piu Fashion Pvt. Ltd. and Aditi Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. will collectively bring in over 4,700 jobs in Khordha.

The infrastructure sector received a boost with Linde India Ltd., which will invest ₹105.70 crore in Jajpur to set up a pipeline cluster for Tata Steel and allied industries. In addition, the company will establish a Global Competency Centre for transport and remote operations in Khordha at a cost of ₹82 crore, creating 210 high-skilled jobs.

Odisha’s thrust on tourism and hospitality was underlined with SYCE India (OPC) Pvt. Ltd.’s proposal to build a five-star luxury resort in Sambalpur, investing ₹107.42 crore and creating 150 jobs. In the power and renewable energy sector, Prozeal Green Energy Ltd. will set up a 69.5 MW solar park in Subarnapur with an investment of ₹140 crore, generating 360 jobs.

The steel and downstream sectors also attracted sizable investments. Konark Ispat Ltd. will expand its Jharsuguda operations with a ₹990 crore investment, generating 2,000 jobs. Mascot Electromech Pvt. Ltd. will set up a fabrication and galvanising unit in Mayurbhanj, creating 350 jobs.

In circular economy and environmental infrastructure, BEIL Infrastructure Ltd. will invest ₹320.70 crore in Ganjam for a treatment, storage, and disposal facility, generating 145 jobs. The state will also see a boost in warehousing and logistics, with Saizar Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. establishing a logistics park in Angul with a ₹127.86 crore investment.

Other approvals include a 20,000 MT cold storage unit in Gajapati, set up by PPD Ispat Pvt. Ltd. (₹51 crore, 120 jobs), and a carbon electrode paste plant by Sirius Speciality Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. in Jajpur (₹205.44 crore, 600 jobs).

The government emphasized that these projects not only represent a new wave of industrialization but also reinforce Odisha’s position as one of India’s most preferred investment destinations. Backed by dynamic governance, investor-friendly policies, and robust infrastructure, the state continues to attract diverse investments while ensuring equitable development across regions.
