Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government underwent a significant administrative reshuffle, with Ranjan Kumar Das, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, appointed as the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division), Cuttack. This decision aims to strengthen excise administration and curb Excise-related crimes in Kalahandi district.
The reshuffle also included new district collectors, with a focus on empowering young officers. Ten IAS officers from 2018 and 2019 batches were appointed district collectors for the first time, while those from the 2020 and 2021 batches were assigned roles as ADMs and sub-collectors. The changes aim to optimize administrative efficiency and enhance governance at the grassroots level.
Some notable appointments include:
Puri collector Samarth Verma as Additional Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, Puri.
Khurda collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy as Director of Minor Minerals, Bhubaneswar.
Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare shifted to Mayurbhanj, while Vineet Bharadwaj takes charge as Cuttack collector.
These changes are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the administration and facilitate effective governance in the state.
