
Bhubaneswar: The Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department, Government of Odisha, held a strategic meeting today with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to explore enhanced cooperation in urban development, sustainable mobility, and resilient infrastructure planning.
Chaired by Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, H&UD Department, the discussion focused on deepening collaboration to accelerate Odisha’s urban transformation. Both sides emphasized the need for data-driven decision-making, integrated project management, and the creation of joint monitoring committees to ensure timely and transparent implementation of ongoing and future initiatives.
A delegation from ADB, comprising Sougat Dasgupta and Abhisek Mukharjee, reaffirmed ADB’s commitment to a long-term partnership with the State. The representatives also expressed interest in extending their support beyond urban mobility and infrastructure to allied sectors such as commerce and transport, to further strengthen Odisha’s sustainable growth framework.
Appreciating ADB’s continued engagement, Padhee highlighted the Odisha Government’s vision to build future-ready, resilient, and people-centric cities. She underlined the Department’s focus on innovation-driven governance, integrated urban planning, and sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life across all urban areas in the state.
