
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) is beaming with pride as one of its students has brought glory to the state by clinching a gold medal at the prestigious Indo-Nepal International Championship.
Somesh Kumar Podh, a talented Class-X student from OAV Masaninmunda, Kesinga, Kalahandi, emerged victorious in the Under-16 Long Jump category at the championship held from 4th to 7th May at the revered Rangasala Stadium in Nepal.
The event, organized by the School Games & Activity Development Foundation, registered under the Indian Government Act 1882, and supported by NITI Ayog Govt. of India and Udyog Addhar Govt. of India, witnessed spirited participation from athletes across borders.
Expressing jubilation over the remarkable feat, OAVS took to social media to announce the achievement, stating, “A Proud Moment for OAVS. Our talented Student Somesh Kumar Podh, of Class-X OAV Masaninmunda, Kesinga, Kalahandi, WON 1st position (Gold Medal) in Under-16 Long Jump in the Indo-Nepal International Championship.”
