‘No mask No entry’ to be implemented in commercial outlets in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of rising Covid cases in the city, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to tighten up measures making ‘no mask no entry’ mandatory in malls and commercial outlets.

‘No mask no entry’ and ‘no mask no goods’ will be enforced across the city, informed BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange. All malls and business establishments will be asked to display these messages at their entrance.
He further informed, “The number of tests has been increased to 2,000 a day and it will reach 3,000 soon.”
The booster dose vaccination drive for the age group 18-59  began at 12 centres on 15 July with around 3,800 persons inoculated with precaution doses on the first day. The number of centres will be increased and there will be provision for online booking of slots for the purpose, he informed.

The BMC targets to vaccinate around 8 lakh persons with booster doses during the next 75 days.

1929 helpline number has been launched to help patients consult doctors. The number of rapid response teams (RRTs) will also be increased if required, he added.

Bhubaneswar recorded 325 new Covid cases on Friday. The city now has over 980 active cases.
