ElectricBus
Bhubaneswar: To go green in the transport sector, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has started the trial run of electric buses in Bhubaneswar.
For the trial run which commenced on 16 July, 10 electric buses are plying on the various routes of the city. A temporary charging station has been also set up in Patia.
CRUT aims to run 50 electric buses under Mo Bus services in the capital region. However, initially, they will launch 10 buses on different routes after the success of the trial run.
The air-conditioned buses will have modern features like a CCTV camera and USB charging points for the passengers in every seat. Like other electric vehicles, these buses are gearless and have three switches-reverse, neutral, and drive.
