
Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, effective from Sunday.
Dhal, a 1993-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer, brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new role. He recently served as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the State during the 2024 General and State Assembly elections, overseeing crucial electoral processes.
Prior to his stint as CEO, Dhal held significant positions including Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) in 2023. His tenure as SRC was marked by his pivotal role in coordinating disaster response and relief efforts across the state.
