NIFTEM-K Celebrates Fifth Convocation, Honoring Graduates and Advancements in Food Technology

Kundli: The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM-K) held its fifth convocation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of 764 graduates. Anita Praveen, Secretary of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), served as the Chief Guest, with Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary of MoFPI, and Pankkaj Aggarwal, Managing Director of Haldiram, attending as Guests of Honour. Distinguished academicians, scientists, and industry leaders joined the ceremony to mark this significant milestone for NIFTEM-K.

The convocation was inaugurated by Professor V. Ramgopal Rao, Chairman of the Board of Governors, while Dr. H.S. Oberoi, Director of NIFTEM-K, delivered a welcome address highlighting the institute’s recent strides in research and industry collaboration. Degrees were conferred upon 408 B.Tech, 233 M.Tech, 84 MBA, and 39 PhD students, with Anita Praveen awarding gold medals to the top achievers, applauding NIFTEM-K’s role in advancing the food processing sector in India.

Dr. Oberoi celebrated the institute’s accomplishments, including securing 10 patents and publishing over 300 research papers, which reflect NIFTEM-K’s dedication to innovation. He noted impressive placement statistics, with 86% of B.Tech, 80% of M.Tech, and 96% of MBA graduates securing positions in leading organizations, underscoring the institute’s success in preparing students for industry challenges.

In his address, Pankkaj Aggarwal expressed confidence in the graduates’ potential, emphasizing their readiness to contribute to the evolving food processing industry.

Closing the event, Professor Rao underscored NIFTEM-K’s commitment to cultivating leaders in food technology. He highlighted the significance of this convocation, as it was the first time the Chairman of the Board of Governors personally admitted all graduates for their degrees, affirming the institute’s pursuit of academic and professional excellence.
