Balasore: A significant leap forward in enhancing connectivity in Balasore has been initiated with the commencement of the long-awaited Foot Overbridge (FOB) project. The endeavor was promised by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, during his recent visit to Balasore, and it holds immense promise for improving rail infrastructure in the region.
The FOB project, spanning two sections, is set to cover a total length of approximately 50 meters, featuring a width of 3.05 meters. Its primary purpose is to seamlessly connect Platforms 1, 2, and 3/4 at the railway station, providing a safe and efficient passage for passengers.
A crucial milestone in the project has been achieved with the official approval of the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD). Currently, the foundation work is in progress, underscoring the dedicated commitment to upgrading railway infrastructure in Balasore.
Upon completion, the FOB will not only offer a safer crossing for passengers but will also ensure a smooth and secure pathway between platforms. This strategic improvement is expected to significantly enhance the overall efficiency of passenger movement at the Balasore railway station. The project is a testament to the government’s commitment to modernizing railway facilities for the benefit of commuters and the region’s connectivity.
