National Commission for Scheduled Castes Submits Annual Report to President

 

New Delhi:   Arun Haldar, Vice-Chairman (Chairman In-charge), presented the Annual Report for the year 2022-23 of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to the President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The event was attended by Shri Subhash Ramnath Pardhi and Dr. Anju Bala, Members of the Commission.

The Annual Report encapsulates a range of recommendations addressing issues falling under the purview of the Commission, specifically concerning the protection of Constitutional Safeguards for the Scheduled Castes, as outlined in the Constitution of India.

In accordance with the mandate vested in the National Commission for Scheduled Castes under Article 338 of the Constitution of India, the Commission is tasked with presenting annual reports to the President, highlighting the functioning of the Constitutional Safeguards for Scheduled Castes. These reports may also include recommendations for measures necessary for the effective implementation of the safeguards. Additionally, the reports put forth suggestions for various measures aimed at the protection, welfare, and socio-economic development of the Scheduled Castes.

The submission of the Annual Report reflects the Commission’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional obligations and ensuring the well-being of the Scheduled Castes through informed recommendations and insights into the implementation of safeguards and other essential measures. The event marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to safeguard the rights and promote the socio-economic development of the Scheduled Castes in the country.
