Musheer Khan Stars as India Crushes New Zealand by 214 Runs in U-19 World Cup Super Sixes

Bloemfontein: India secured a commanding 214-run victory against New Zealand in the U-19 World Cup Super Sixes at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein, marking their third consecutive 200-plus run win in the tournament. Musheer Khan played a pivotal role with a century and impressive bowling figures.

In the first innings, India, led by Musheer’s outstanding 131 and Adarsh Singh’s 52, posted a formidable total of 295 for 8 in 50 overs. New Zealand struggled in their response as Raj Limbani and Saumy Pandey wreaked havoc, bundling them out for 81, making it New Zealand’s third-lowest score in U-19 World Cup history.

Musheer Khan, in scintillating form, contributed significantly to India’s dominance. He immediately got into action, starting with a ramp shot and a cover drive, setting the tone for a rapid innings. Adarsh Singh’s consistent batting and a run-a-ball 77-run partnership further fueled India’s imposing total.

Despite New Zealand’s efforts to employ spin and restrict India, Musheer Khan’s remarkable century, reaching the three-figure mark with a reverse sweep, showcased his dominance. He became the second Indian with multiple centuries in a single U-19 World Cup edition since Shikhar Dhawan in 2004.

In the second innings, Raj Limbani’s inswinging brilliance dismantled New Zealand’s top order, reducing them to 0 for 2 after the first over. Saumy Pandey’s spin magic and Musheer Khan’s impactful bowling ensured New Zealand’s comprehensive downfall, securing a thumping victory for India. The result positions India favorably for a semi-final spot in the U-19 World Cup.
