Karnataka Captain Mayank Agarwal Hospitalized After Falling Sick on Flight

Agartala: Karnataka’s cricket captain, Mayank Agarwal, has been admitted to a hospital in Agartala after experiencing health issues during a flight. The incident occurred while the Karnataka team was en route from Agartala to Delhi on Tuesday (January 30).

Mayank Agarwal reportedly consumed a beverage during the flight and subsequently complained of uneasiness, a burning sensation in his throat, and began vomiting. Following these symptoms, he was immediately deboarded and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

According to Cricbuzz, Raghuram Bhat, the President of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), stated that Mayank is currently out of danger and is expected to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. Upon discharge, he is set to return to Bengaluru, where he will consult with local doctors to determine the next steps in his recovery. The KSCA expresses confidence that Mayank will make a swift return to the field.

Karnataka recently completed their Ranji Trophy Group C match against Tripura in Agartala and is scheduled to face Railways in their next fixture starting February 2 in Surat. In Mayank Agarwal’s absence, Nikil Jose, the vice-captain of the team, is likely to take over the leadership responsibilities. The cricket fraternity wishes Mayank Agarwal a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back in action soon.
