Mumbai: In a major recognition of India’s growing stature in global aviation, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has been named among the world’s top 10 airports by Travel + Leisure magazine.
The prestigious ranking, part of the magazine’s annual “World’s Best Awards,” reflects CSMIA’s excellence in infrastructure, passenger experience, service quality, and operational efficiency. The rankings are based on reader surveys that evaluate airports on criteria such as access, check-in experience, security, amenities, cleanliness, and overall comfort.
Operated by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd, CSMIA is one of the busiest and most advanced airports in India, handling millions of domestic and international passengers annually. Over the years, the airport has garnered praise for its modern architecture, art installations, retail experience, and sustainable practices.
“This recognition is a proud moment for not just Mumbai but for the entire country,” said a spokesperson from the airport authority. “It reaffirms our commitment to providing a world-class travel experience and maintaining the highest standards in airport operations.”
The award adds to a growing list of accolades received by Indian airports in recent years, as the country continues to invest heavily in aviation infrastructure and passenger services.
