
Bhubaneswar: With an aim to improve the nutrition status of adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers and underweight children, the Odisha government has decided to launch Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pushti Yojana (MSPY).
Informing about the decision Chief Secretary PK Jena said that Rs 3,354.40 crore will be spent under the project which will be implemented in the state over a period of five years from 2023-24 financial year.
Nutritional supports eggs, ladoos and other nutrition supplements shall be provided to all the adolescent girls in the age group of 15-19 years in Odisha.
Kishori Melas to be organised at the ICDS project level for the screening of adolescent girls for anemia, he informed.
Additional take home ration in the form of nutrient rich food products including millets and eggs will be provided to pregnant women and lactating mothers in the state, added.
The state government will also provide augmented take home ration (THR) and additional eggs to underweight children below 6 years of age under the scheme, shared Jena.
