
Bhubaneswar: As a proactive measure to address the prevailing heatwave conditions in the state, courts across Odisha are set to implement morning sessions starting April 8.
The Orissa High Court, through a directive sent to district and sessions judges on Saturday, announced that district and subordinate courts throughout Odisha will convene morning sittings effective April 8 until the last working day of the summer vacation.
In a letter addressed to the district and sessions judges, Orissa High Court Registrar (in-charge) Akhil Kumar Paschimakabat outlined the schedule for the morning sessions. According to the directive, the courts will operate from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a recess of half an hour from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
However, the implementation of morning sessions will not be applicable to courts situated in Berhampur, Chhatrapur, Bhubaneswar, Koraput Sadar, and Puri Sadar, as specified in the letter.
