
Bhubaneswar: Mohes Kumar Behera, a seasoned officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), has officially taken charge as the Additional General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR). In his new role, Behera will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the railway operations within the East Coast region.
Prior to assuming the position of Additional General Manager, Behera served as the Chief Planning & Design Engineer of ECoR at Bhubaneswar. His extensive experience and expertise in various capacities within the Indian Railways make him well-suited for this pivotal role.
He is an alumnus of the University College of Engineering, Burla, Sambalpur, where he graduated in Civil Engineering. He further pursued his M.Tech in Ocean Engineering from the prestigious IIT, Madras. With a career spanning over three decades, Shri Behera joined the Indian Railways in 1991 and has since contributed significantly to the development and maintenance of railway infrastructure.
Throughout his career, Behera has held key positions, including Chief Bridge Engineer and Chief Engineer (Bridge Rehabilitation) in ECoR. His notable assignments also include serving as the Group General Manager of RITES at Bhubaneswar and Chief Engineer (Construction) of the Ganga Bridge under East Central Railway at Patna & Munger.
Additionally, he held crucial posts such as Senior Divisional Engineer (Co-ordination) in Sambalpur, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer in ECoR, and Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction) in NF Railway. His diverse experience in different aspects of railway operations positions him well to contribute to the ongoing and future initiatives of East Coast Railway.
