Ministry of Minority Affairs Grants Rs. 92.34 Crore for Infrastructure Development at NEHU

New Delhi: In line with the vision of a developed and prosperous India, championed by the Honorable Prime Minister, the Ministry of Minority Affairs has taken a momentous step towards infrastructure development at the North Eastern Himalayan University (NEHU). A sum of Rs. 92.34 Crore has been allocated for the construction of four hostels and an auditorium, marking a significant investment in educational facilities in the region.

NEHU, established with the aim of disseminating knowledge and fostering social and economic development in the hill areas of the North-Eastern region, has been at the forefront of intellectual, academic, and cultural advancement. The infusion of funds from the Ministry of Minority Affairs underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the university’s mission and enhancing its growth trajectory.

The approved infrastructure facilities will play a crucial role in accommodating students from remote areas of the North-East, ensuring they have access to quality education. With the construction of four hostels and an auditorium, NEHU will be able to cater to the needs of more than 1200 students, the majority of whom belong to minority communities. This initiative aligns perfectly with the Ministry’s dedication to realizing Vision 2047 for a developed India.
