Ministry of Defence Inks Tripartite MoU for Indigenous Development of Advanced Fuelling and Control System

New Delhi:   The Ministry of Defence has formalized a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BEML Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) to bolster indigenous capabilities in the defence sector. The collaborative effort aims at the development of an Advanced Fuelling and Control System for Engines tailored for heavy-duty applications.

The MoU was signed today in the capital, New Delhi, in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane. The signatories included Shri Shantanu Roy, Chairman & Managing Director of BEML Limited; Dr. SK Jha, CMD of MIDHANI; and Shri Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, CMD of BEL.

This strategic collaboration seeks to harness and consolidate the expertise of the three entities to design, test, and manufacture an innovative Advanced Fuelling and Control System. The envisioned system is expected to offer heightened efficiency, performance, and reliability, thus addressing critical requirements for heavy-duty applications.

By incorporating the latest advancements in engine technology and control systems, the collaborative effort aims to contribute significantly to the development of cutting-edge engine systems. These systems will find applications in combat vehicles, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the self-reliance of the nation in the defense sector.

The MoU aligns seamlessly with the government’s commitment to fostering indigenous development under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. The collaborative initiative not only underscores the collective strength of BEML Limited, BEL, and MIDHANI but also marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of self-sufficiency in complex defense technologies.

The Defence Secretary, Shri Giridhar Aramane, expressed optimism about the collaborative effort and its potential to propel the nation towards technological self-sufficiency. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fortifying India’s defense capabilities and fostering innovation within the country.

This collaborative venture signals a new era in the indigenous development of advanced defense technologies, reinforcing India’s commitment to self-reliance and technological innovation in the defense sector. The joint efforts of BEML Limited, BEL, and MIDHANI are poised to make a lasting impact on the nation’s defense capabilities, contributing to the vision of a stronger and more self-sufficient India.
