
Itanagar: Millo Sunka becomes the first actor from Arunachal Pradesh to win the best leading actress award in an international film festival.
Sunka received the award for her performance in the short film ‘Nocturnal Burger’ at the prestigious Prisma Rome International Film Awards 2023.
Written and directed by Reema Maya, the film was screened at numerous festivals. The film has its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2023, the largest independent film festival in the United States. The film was also screened at the Aspen Film Festival 2023, an Oscar-qualifying film festival.
Sunka, who hails from Hapoli in Ziro Vally of Lower Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh has also acted in the Netflix series ‘The Last Hour’ and the Hindi movie ‘Axone’ released in 2019.
