Military Nursing Service Celebrating International Nurses Day1

New Delhi: The Ayurvigyan Auditorium at Army Hospital (R & R) resonated with appreciation and gratitude as International Nurses Day was celebrated with fervour and reverence. Maj Gen Kanwarjit Singh, Offg Commandant of Army Hospital (R&R), graced as the Chief Guest.

International Nurses Day holds significant importance worldwide, commemorating the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale and recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses to society’s well-being.

This year, the International Council of Nurses has chosen the theme ‘Our Nurses Our Future, The Economic Power of Care.’ Maj Gen I D Flora, Addl DGMNS, unveiled the theme, emphasizing the pivotal role of nurses in shaping the future of healthcare through their compassionate care and dedication.

To enrich the commemoration, a thought-provoking debate on ‘Artificial Intelligence in Nursing: Boon or a Bane’ and a panel discussion on the theme were organized.

Amidst the enlightening discussions, the Chief Guest took the opportunity to honor the exemplary contributions of nursing officers, presenting them with appreciation certificates. Capt Deepa Shajan was bestowed with the prestigious Pushpnaranjan Award, recognizing her outstanding service and dedication.
