
Ministry of Heavy Industries Announces Re-bidding of Production Linked Incentives for Advanced Chemistry Cell Manufacturing
New Delhi: The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has declared the re-bidding process for the Production Linked Incentives (PLI) for 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacturing on January 24, 2024. This initiative invites prospective applicants to submit their bids for establishing a domestic manufacturing facility for ACC, qualifying for incentives under the PLI ACC scheme. The transparent two-stage bidding process will take place online through the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) mechanism via the CPP Portal.
Tender documents became available on January 24, 2024, with a pre-bid conference scheduled for February 12, 2024. The bid due date is April 22, 2024, and bids will be opened on April 23, 2024.

The government, through MHI, is committed to providing clean and green public transport under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME-II) scheme. Additionally, through the PLI Auto and Auto components scheme, MHI supports enhancing India’s manufacturing capabilities and exports in the automobile and automobile components sector.
Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Union Minister of Heavy Industries, emphasized MHI’s commitment to supporting India’s manufacturing capabilities and exports. He reiterated MHI’s dedication to realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant (Atmanirbhar) and developed India (Viksit Bharat). In line with the vision of making the country net zero by 2070, the Ministry of Heavy Industries has undertaken initiatives to promote environmentally friendly product manufacturing in the automotive industry through schemes like PLI-Auto, PLI-Advanced Chemistry Cell, and FAME-II.
