
Bhubaneswar: The Mid-Day Meals (MDM) in government schools of Odisha which was stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will resume from April.
Nodal Officer (MDM) in the School & Mass Education Department Sanat Kumar Mohanty, has written to the collectors of all districts in this regard.
PM Poshan (MDM) at schools has been stopped following the closure of schools due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the State. Dry ration (rice) and Food Security Allowances (Cooking Cost) were provided to the students instead of hot cooked meals at school since March 2020.
“Given the significant decrease in the corona caseload in the state, schools have reopened. It has been decided to serve hot cooked meals to the students at schools from April-2022 following covid guidelines,” the letter read.
“A Standard Operating Procedure has been prepared following which necessary arrangements could be made for the smooth implementation of the programme,” the official wrote.
