Koraput: Taking voter awareness to new heights, the Koraput District administration and the District Election Officer organised a special expedition to the summit of Odisha’s highest mountain point, the Deomali Hills. Led by Collector Keerthi Vasan V, the expedition aimed to engage voters, especially first-time voters, in understanding their rights and responsibilities as citizens participating in the electoral process.
The expedition, which saw participation from various sections of society, including enthusiastic young first-time voters, emphasized the crucial role of every voter in shaping the nation’s future through their votes. With just days remaining until the elections, the participants were urged to exercise their franchise and contribute to the nation-building process.
Located in the Kotia Panchayat of Pattangi block in Koraput District, Deomali stands as the tallest peak in Odisha, offering a breathtaking backdrop for the voter awareness initiative. More than 500 individuals joined the awareness program, making it a resounding success in spreading the message of electoral participation.
In addition to the mountaineering expedition, the district administration has undertaken various initiatives to educate voters about the importance of voting. Special programs have been organized across all blocks of the district, ensuring that every voter is equipped with the knowledge to make an informed decision at the ballot box.
Speaking about the efforts, Collector Keerthi Vasan emphasized the significance of voter participation in the democratic process. “Through this special mountaineering effort, we aim to send a powerful message to all voters in Koraput district and Odisha as a whole. Every vote counts, and it is our collective responsibility to participate in the electoral process and contribute to nation-building,” he stated.
