
New Delhi: In a significant development for the advocacy and empowerment of the Scheduled Castes community, Kishor Makwana officially assumed the charge of Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) in New Delhi today. Accompanying him in this crucial responsibility, Luv Kush Kumar also took charge as a Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.
Addressing the media after assuming office, Kishor Makwana expressed his dedication to tirelessly work towards safeguarding the interests and rights of the Scheduled Castes community. He emphasized that the Commission’s role extends beyond ensuring justice for the SCs, as it aims to be proactive in preventing any form of injustice against the community.
Shri Makwana outlined the Commission’s objectives, highlighting its commitment to actively participate in and advise on the planning process of socio-economic development for the Scheduled Castes. Additionally, he emphasized the NCSC’s role in preventing atrocities against the community and fostering social harmony in society.
Prior to his appointment as Chairman of NCSC, Shri Makwana served as a joint spokesperson of the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Notably, he is a seasoned journalist and columnist, having authored over 33 books on various subjects. His works include titles such as ‘Samajik Kranti na Mahanayak Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’ (Great Hero of the Social Revolution – Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar), ‘Swami Vivekananda,’ ‘Safalta no Mantra’ (Mantra of Success), and ‘Krantiveer Birsa Munda’ (Revolutionist Birsa Munda), among others.
Shri Makwana’s dedication to social causes and prolific literary contributions have made him a respected figure in both political and intellectual circles. His assumption of the role of Chairman of NCSC is expected to bring a wealth of experience and commitment to the forefront, contributing to the welfare and empowerment of the Scheduled Castes community in India.
