
Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida today inaugurated KALIKA — the Crèche Facility at Kharavel Bhawan, developed to provide safe, nurturing day-care support for the children of working mothers and staff. The initiative strengthens work-life balance within government establishments and marks a step forward in inclusive, empathetic workplace support systems.
With colourful activity spaces, trained caregivers and an environment designed for learning, play and well-being, KALIKA aims to help children blossom while ensuring parents — especially mothers — can focus on work without stress.
DC-cum-ACS Anu Garg, speaking on the occasion, said “KALIKA is an important intervention in building a workplace where motherhood and professional responsibility go hand in hand. When employees feel supported, productivity and dignity grow together.”
Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department Usha Padhee added “A child-friendly space like KALIKA sends a message — that care is part of our work culture. This initiative will ease the lives of working mothers and foster an environment where children can flourish with love, learning and security.”
The inaugural event also saw participation of senior officials and staff of Housing & Urban Development dept Kharavel Bhawan, marking a shared commitment to enhancing employee welfare and child-centred facilities.The Administrative Officer, Care Taker of the Crech were also present.
