Delhi: Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Minister of Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, alongside Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Communications & Rural Development, inaugurated the Network Operations Centre at the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) Delhi Campus today.

The newly launched centre boasts indigenously developed security infrastructure designed to identify and monitor cyber threats within the telecom network in India. This infrastructure can actively identify various malicious activities such as malware, ransomware, DoS, DDoS, DNS amplification, and malicious domain communications.

In a significant milestone, Minister Scindia made a pilot 5G call on BSNL’s live network using indigenously developed 5G Radio and 5G core (NSA). This demonstration showcased India’s advancements in home-grown 5G technology.

During their visit, the ministers toured the CDOT Centre of Innovation and the ITU area office located on the C-DOT campus. They engaged with entrepreneurs supported by C-DOT and reviewed ongoing indigenous technology programs including 4G/5G, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Cyber Security solutions, Disaster Management Cell broadcast solutions, optical, and advanced security projects. Young engineers and researchers at C-DOT presented various innovative telecom technologies to the ministers in several technology labs.

Both Shri Scindia and Dr. Sekhar lauded the efforts of C-DOT’s teams in developing a range of indigenous telecom products and solutions, including a comprehensive end-to-end 4G/5G system fully developed with home-grown technology. They celebrated this achievement as a significant step towards realizing the Government’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) and assured continued support and encouragement for research and innovation.
