Govt Urges Every Odia to Sing ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ Together on February 3 at 11:30 AM

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to celebrate the cultural richness of Odisha and strengthen the connection with the Odia language, Sujata Rout Karthikeyan, Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature & Culture (OLLC) department, held a press meet today to unveil the details of the upcoming “Biswa Odia Bhasa Sammilani.”

Addressing the media, Ms. Sujata Rout Karthikeyan shed light on the event’s theme and outlined plans to engage the younger generation with the Odia language. The conference will also introduce the concept of “Akshar Bhumi” and lay out strategies for the districts and panchayats to promote and preserve the essence of the Odia language.

In a heartfelt call for unity, Ms. Karthikeyan has requested everyone within the state and Odias residing outside to participate in a unique initiative. On February 3 at 11:30 AM, she urges individuals to come together and sing the state song, ‘Bande Utkal Janani.’ This synchronized singing event is envisioned to create a powerful and collective expression of pride in Odia culture and heritage.

The 3-day World Odia Language Conference, set to be inaugurated on February 3, will serve as a platform for engaging discussions, workshops, and cultural events. The primary focus will be on fostering a deeper connection to the Odia language and preserving its unique identity.

Ms. Sujata Rout Karthikeyan expressed her enthusiasm for the event and urged the active participation of citizens of Odisha and Odias across the globe. The collective singing of ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ is expected to create a memorable and unifying experience, reinforcing the shared cultural heritage of the Odia community.

As February 3 approaches, the anticipation builds for this unique celebration, inviting everyone to join in harmony and celebrate the linguistic and cultural vibrancy of Odisha.
