Israeli Company Insectika Proposes Biofertilizer Solutions for Odisha’s Organic Farming Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to support Odisha’s growing interest in organic farming, Benjamin Rubin, Chairman of the Israel-based Insectika Company, met with Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday. Rubin shared insights into Insectika’s innovative approach to producing organic fish and poultry feed, as well as biofertilizers, using the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department; Suresh Vashishth, Principal Secretary of the Fisheries & Animal Resources Department; and Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of Agriculture, along with other representatives from Insectika.

Insectika specializes in waste decomposition through Black Soldier Fly larvae, creating environmentally friendly biofertilizers and organic feed options. Rubin expressed interest in introducing Insectika’s biofertilizers to Odisha, highlighting the company’s alignment with the state’s organic farming goals.

Minister Singh Deo welcomed the proposal, noting that a thorough assessment of Insectika’s products, as well as verification of necessary licenses, would be conducted before taking further steps toward collaboration.
