
Mumbai: Isha Ambani Piramal, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, graced the launch of a groundbreaking book titled “Being Breast-Aware: What Every Woman Must Know” curated by Dr. Vijay Haribhakti, Chair of Onco Sciences at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. The book launch took place as part of the India Breast Meeting 2024, a global convention on breast cancer organized by the hospital.
In her address, Isha Ambani Piramal emphasized the importance of raising awareness about breast health and supporting individuals battling breast cancer. She commended the efforts of Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and support. The inaugural India Breast Meeting 2024 aims to bring together experts from around the world to improve the scope and quality of care for breast cancer patients.
Breast cancer has become a significant health concern globally and in India, with 2.3 million women diagnosed and 670,000 succumbing to the disease in 2022 alone. It is the most diagnosed cancer in women worldwide and the second most common cancer overall. The book “Being Breast-Aware” is designed to provide precise information by medical experts, aiding in prevention, early detection, and optimal care for breast cancer patients, thus improving survival rates and quality of life.
To address the rising incidence of breast cancer, Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital has introduced the “One Stop Breast Clinic.” This clinic aims to provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment pathways for women with possible or confirmed breast diseases within two hours, ensuring timely and effective care.
