International Conference on Life and Legacy of Guru Padmasambhava to be Held at Nalanda

Nalanda: The International Buddhist Confederation, in collaboration with Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, will host a two-day international conference on the life and legacy of Guru Padmasambhava on August 28-29, 2024, in Nalanda. Also known as Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava, a revered figure in Buddha Dhamma, played a crucial role in spreading Buddhism across the Himalayan region in the 8th century.

The Governor of Bihar, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, will inaugurate the event as the Chief Guest. Most Ven. Khenpo Chimed, Vice Chairman of the Lumbini Development Trust in Nepal, and Most Ven. Khenpo Ugyen Namgyel, Secretary and Chief Monk of the Royal Bhutan Temple, will serve as Guests of Honour.

The conference will delve into Guru Padmasambhava’s life, teachings, and travels across the Himalayas, while exploring his relevance today. As the second Buddha, Padmasambhava is celebrated for blending diverse cultural practices, including Yogic and Tantric traditions, meditation, art, and folklore.
