
Port Victoria, Seychelles: As part of her long-range deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region, the Indian Navy’s offshore patrol vessel INS Sunayna entered Port Victoria, Seychelles on June 26, 2024. The visit coincides with the celebration of the 48th National Day of Seychelles on June 29, 2024.
An Indian Navy marching contingent and the Naval band will participate in the military parade organized as part of the Seychelles National Day celebrations. This deployment marks the sustained presence of an Indian military contingent in Seychelles since 1976, reaffirming the enduring friendship between the two nations.
During the port call, a series of social interactions and engagements with the Seychelles Defence Force are planned. The crew will host a special yoga session, open the ship to visitors, and participate in a community outreach program. An aerial demonstration featuring the indigenously built Naval Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) is also scheduled, showcasing India’s advanced technological capabilities.
