Indian Super League Unveils Playoff Schedule and Final Date for 2023-24 Season

Mumbai: Excitement is building as the Indian Super League (ISL) announces the eagerly awaited playoff schedule and the date for the season final of the 2023-24 campaign. The culmination of what has been a thrilling and fiercely competitive season is set to take place with the final scheduled for May 4.

The road to the final begins on April 19 with knockout matches, followed by the semi-finals in a home and away format. Here is the breakdown of the playoff schedule:

Knockouts: April 19 & 20
Semi-finals (1st leg): April 23 & 24
Semi-finals (2nd leg): April 28 & 29

The format for determining the semi-finalists is as follows: the top two teams at the conclusion of the league stage will secure direct qualification to the semi-finals, while the sides finishing third to sixth will battle it out in single-leg playoffs, utilizing a knockout format, to secure the remaining two spots in the semi-finals.

The 2023-24 ISL season has been marked by intense competition, with Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan SG emerging as strong contenders for the league title. The lineup for the playoffs is now complete, with Chennaiyin FC securing the sixth spot following East Bengal FC’s loss to Punjab FC. Joining them in the playoffs are Odisha FC, FC Goa, and Kerala Blasters FC, setting the stage for a thrilling climax to the season.

As anticipation mounts, fans await eagerly for the announcement of the venue for the final showdown.
