Indian Navy Prepares for Grand Mock Drill in Puri Ahead of Navy Day Celebrations

Puri: The Indian Navy is gearing up for a spectacular mock drill off the coast of Puri in preparation for the upcoming Navy Day celebrations on December 4. The event is set to be a grand display of naval warfare and power, showcasing the strength and capabilities of the Indian Navy.

In anticipation of the celebrations, five warships, including the formidable INS Jalashwa, INS Kiltan, and INS Sumedha, have anchored along the Puri coast, stretching from Digabarini to the Light House. These warships have already begun patrolling the area, offering the public and tourists a glimpse of the Navy’s operational might.

Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, accompanied by senior naval officers, visited Puri today to assess the beach conditions and hold discussions with the district administration. The Navy plans to conduct a series of drill operations on Puri Beach, which will feature air shows, commando operations, and other daring military manoeuvres, offering a thrilling spectacle for onlookers.

Admiral Tripathi, along with his family, also paid a visit to the revered Shree Mandir, where they offered prayers. His visit highlights the Navy’s connection with the local culture and the significance of Puri as a historic and spiritual destination.

This year’s Navy Day celebrations are expected to be an impressive showcase of the Indian Navy’s prowess and dedication to safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests. The event will be graced by the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Navy Day, observed annually on December 4 since 1944, commemorates the Indian Navy’s achievements and its role in defending the country’s coastline. This year’s celebration promises to be a memorable and awe-inspiring event for all who witness it.
