New Delhi: The Indian Navy recently conducted Exercise Poorvi Lehar on the East Coast under the operational control of The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command. The exercise aimed to validate procedures for assessing the Indian Navy’s preparedness to meet maritime security challenges in the region.
The exercise witnessed the participation of ships, submarines, aircraft, and special forces. Conducted in multiple phases, including combat training in realistic scenarios during the Tactical Phase and successful firings during the Weapon Phase, Exercise Poorvi Lehar reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s capability to deliver ordnance on target. The operation of aircraft from diverse locations also ensured near-continuous Maritime Domain Awareness throughout the Area of Operations.
In addition to assets from the Eastern Naval Command, the exercise also saw participation from the Indian Air Force, Andaman & Nicobar Command, and Coast Guard, indicating a high degree of interoperability among the services.
