Indian and German Navies Conduct Maritime Partnership Exercise in the Indian Ocean

Indian Ocean: The Indian Navy’s guided missile destroyer INS Delhi and the German Navy’s frigate Baden-Württemberg, along with the replenishment tanker Frankfurt Am Main, recently conducted a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) in the Indian Ocean. This joint exercise featured a series of complex operations, including cross-deck flying maneuvers, underway replenishment, weapon firing drills, and tactical maneuvers aimed at enhancing interoperability between the two navies.

This inaugural Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) in the Bay of Bengal reflects a commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation and connectivity between India and Germany. It aims to bolster collaborative capabilities in maritime security and reinforce the strategic partnership between the two nations.

INS Delhi, the lead ship of her class of guided missile destroyers, serves as a vital asset in the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy. The German frigate Baden-Württemberg is the lead ship of the F125 class, designed for long-duration missions, while the Frankfurt Am Main serves as the second ship of the Berlin-class replenishment vessels in the German Navy.
