India vs Afghanistan T20 Series: India take 2-0 Lead with a Thumping Victory

Indore: Scintillating half-centuries from opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and all-rounder Shivam Dube led India beat Afghanistan in the second T20 international to take 2-0 lead in the ongoing T20I series played at Indore. The hosts chased down the target of 173 in the 16th over by losing 4 wickets.

Though captain Rohit Sharma got out for another duck, Jaiswal forged a 57-run partnership with Virat Kohli (29 off 16) before joining hands with Dube to add a match winning 92 runs in seven overs. Jaiswal scored 68 off 34 with 5 fours, six sixes, while Dube hit his second half-century of the series remaining not-out on 63 off 32 with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes. India, though lost wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma for zero, Rinku Singh (9 off 9) ensured that the team crossed the target with 26 balls left. India plundered 97 runs off the 7 overs bowled by Afghanistan spinners at 13.85 run rates, which is the worst economy by Afghan spinners in a T20I.
