India-Singapore Bilateral Meeting on Public Administration Collaboration

New Delhi: In a video conferencing meeting, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Shri V. Srinivas, engaged with Ms. Tan Gee Keow, Permanent Secretary of the Public Services Division (PSD) in the Republic of Singapore. The discussions aimed at reinforcing cooperation in the domains of Personnel Management and Public Administration between the two nations.

The bilateral meeting outlined the collaborative agenda for 2024, emphasizing the exchange of best practices in governance, information sharing in the realm of Personnel Management and Public Administration, joint efforts in leveraging technology for governance, and the timely organization of Joint Working Group meetings.

Key areas of collaboration included enhancing e-service delivery, adopting unified service delivery portals, incorporating AI/ML in grievance redressal, and advancing e-governance practices. The Indian delegation showcased the strides made by the Government of India in implementing the “Maximum Governance-Minimum Government” policy. This involved CPGRAMS reforms, benchmarking e-services through the National e-Services Delivery Assessment, and recognizing meritocracy through the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.

The Singapore side highlighted the Singapore Government Partnerships Office and its commitment to address citizen voices while seeking sustainable solutions. They also shared efforts to prepare citizens for increased technology adoption.

The meeting signifies both countries’ dedication to collaboration in areas crucial for effective public administration, leveraging technological advancements, and sharing experiences for mutual improvement in governance practices.
